Today's post marks Barry Bonds breaking of Babe Ruth's home run total by hitting his 715th. Love him or hate him Bonds', accomplishments are considerable, 11 times an All-Star, seven times the National League MVP, and the single season HR record holder with 73. Bonds has led the NL in 11 different offensive categories a total of 61 times. The current steroids scandal will forever taint Bonds' legacy and add fuel to criticism of this player who has always been unpopular outside of the Bay Area. But like most cities, San Francisco is just as guilty of turning a blind eye to the misdeeds of a favorite son and... hey, wait a minute, back up... is that a cable car in the bleachers?
