Chihuly Exhibit, de Young Museum
Let me officially become the last San Francisco blogger to feature the Chihuly glass exhibit at the de Young Museum. The collection is the sculptor's largest ever assembled, taking up eleven galleries at the museum then spilling out onto the main concourse's Pool of Enchantment and extending to the Legion of Honor. The show features the Mille Fiori, a 56-foot garden of glass flowers and Chihuly's five giant Chandeliers. This collection of glass sculpture will be at the de Young until September 28th. The show is a must-see for anyone who can make it to Golden Gate Park before the end of September.

Great photos!
In case you missed it, there is also a Chihuly installation in the Conservatory of Flowers.

What a treat...
I saw the pieces at the Legion of Honor, I think I'll have to get over to the DeYoung very soon also -- I didn't realize they had so many installations there.

I keep wondering how they transported all of that fragilility... I guess they had to re-assemble it on site -- that would have been fun to watch -- a giant jigsaw puzzle, so to speak...

You can't take a bad picture of this exhibit... or too many pictures, either.

I'll have to get over to the Conservatory, too. I had no idea that there was an installation there, too.
