A Change of Scenery, Marin County
No matter where you live it seems the locals love to say, "Don't like the weather? Just wait half and hour and it will change." In Marin County that same phrase might be used to describe the scenery. You might find yourself at the location of the top photo, the high thick pine forest surrounding Alpine Lake near Mount Tamalpias. If you choose, a short 30 minute drive will put you on a warm sandy Pacific Ocean beach, like the middle photo. Turning east you'll soon discover rolling farmland like that near Tomales Bay in the bottom photo. At that point you can decided to drive north into the lush vineyards of Sonoma or south into bustle of downtown San Francisco. It's your choice and it's all just a half hour away.

I love that about SF and the Bay Area!! Just drive a little or wait a little and it seems like you're in a different place.

Thanks for the great photos! I always look forward to seeing what comes next.

Why, oh why, did I ever leave the Bay Area? I use to spend a lot of time in this part of Marin County.

Sigh.

I love that last photo so much. Makes me wish I was there with a picnic basket and a book. ;-)
