Mini Series, Bay to Breakers Race- Day 2 of 2
The Bay to Breakers Race can be easily separated into two types of runners, the serious runners and those out for fun. One of the traditions of the race is the wearing of wacky outfits. Of the 60,000 runners in this year's race about half wore some type of costume, such as the scurrying cockroaches pictured above. Another tradition is that of running naked and again this year dozens of nude runners covered the seven and a half mile course. The rolling street party and bacchanalia ends near the Pacific Ocean in Golden Gate Park where hopefully the naked runners have stored clothes or at least fare money for the trolley ride back across town.

Really great shots!
This year I positioned myself near the top of the Hayes Street Hill, but I now realize that many of the more colorful (and less serious) runners jump into the race beyond that toughest portion of the course.   I managed to snap a lot of photos, nevertheless...

Maybe I missed something, but where did you say the naked runners store their fare money?

I like the guy in the Heidi dress. Now I feel better about my outfit today.
