Certainly one of the coolest jobs in San Francisco must be working in the Exploritorium's huge workshop. The workshop which is visible from the balcony of the Exploritorium designs and builds all of the hands-on exhibits, from the cyclonic Vortex to the thermal Heat Camera (link below). One of the nicest things about the Exploritorium is the way artists and scientists intermingle to build an eye-opening, ground-breaking experience. The museum has been a favorite field trip for San Franciscans, young and old, for decades and should be on your list of things to visit in the city.
