Race for the Cure, Embarcadero
Sunday the Embarcadero was shut down to traffic and the city's bay front drive was filled, as far as the eye could see, with thousands and thousands of people running in the Susan G. Komen 'Race of the Cure,' supporting a cure for breast cancer. The spectacular run started at the Giant's AT&T Park, then passed under the Bay Bridge, and ending at the Ferry Building. The Race for the Cure has become one of San Francisco's signature races and the Susan G Komen Foundation is the nation's largest private source of funding for breast cancer research and community outreach programs, investing over $630 million.
