Gull in Flight, Presidio Pier
In March pair of endangered Peregrine falcons found a new habitat. The pair staked the urban wilderness of San Francisco’s Financial District as their territory and selected the 33rd floor roof of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s building as their nesting site. In April the falcons hatched four chicks and scientists from the Predatory Bird Research Group were called into help look after the birds. A live peregrine nest cam is made available during nesting season for curious bird watchers.
