Street Art, South of Market
With all due respect to the San Francisco Arts Commission, some of the most creative expression in the city is on its walls and in its alleys. The street art underground here is so active that there are dozens of websites and a major documentary film, Piece by Piece dedicated to the San Francisco scene. If graffiti is nothing more than vandalism to you, a trip off the beaten path may just be an eye-opening experience.

i love your site. the jack london quote you posted rings soooo true for me. my husband and i moved to san diego over a year ago and we miss san francisco terribly! we plan on being back there within three years, god willing, but your amazing pictures hold us over until then. some are of places i love, others were places i meant to go in the 10 years i lived there. thanks for posting your photos, they make my heart happy.
