Every June the streets of San Rafael are turned into a canvas for the Italian Street Painting Festival. The over 200 beautiful works last only two days until the Monday morning street cleaner washes away the chalk masterpieces. The festival benefits youth art programs and children visiting the event are encourged to paint their own squares. This year's festival is June 11th and 12th.
