Yet another reason to love San Francisco, the western shoreline of Ocean Beach. What other city would protect its entire six miles of Pacific coast from development, keeping it open for the public to enjoy? On summer evenings guitars and fog horns compete to serenade bonfire parties on the moonlit beach.

Stuck in the Midwest at the moment, the smell of the ocean makes me long so much to live coastal again I can almost taste the salt in the air.
