The Great Gorilla Run, Golden Gate Park
Gorillas in the midst... of a 7K race. Hundreds of gorilla-suited runners showed up in Golden Gate Park this Sunday for the Great Gorilla Run to benefit the last of the world's mountain gorillas, the lowland gorillas of Central Africa, of which less than 700 remain. Spots for the race quickly sold out as many tried to join the large horde of runners chasing a giant banana round the park. Among those attending were Elvis Gorillas, Pimp Gorillas, I'm-a-Gorilla-bit-Country Gorillas, and Michael Jackson 'Thrilla' Gorillas.
