Bimbos 365, Columbus Avenue
Bimbos 365 is also known as the nightclub with the mermaid. Owner Agostino 'Bimbo' Giuntoli opened his first club, the swanky 365 Club, on Market Street in 1931. The club attracted celebrities from across the country who drank and watched the showgirls, one of whom was a young pre-Hollywood Rita Hayworth. One of the biggest draws was Dolfina, The Girl in the Fishbowl, who appeared to be swimming naked in the fish tank behind the club's Continental Lounge bar.

When Bimbo moved to this location on Columbus Avenue, Dolfina came too. In the television series "The Chris Isaak Show" on Showtime, the San Francisco-native Isaak would often seek advice from the mermaid who was actually "swimming" on a rotating bed below the bar, her image projected into the fish tank. Today, Bimbos 365 hosts live comedy acts and music, ranging from Jewel and the Brian Setzer Orchestra to Macy Gray. The club and Dolfina are also available for private parties.
