Mini Series, Day 3 of 4
One of the most famous features of the San Francisco Zoo is its Gorilla World, one of the largest and most natural habitats of any zoo in the world. Ever since it opened in 1980 with its circular, no cage layout, it has served as a model for humane exhibition and care. Along with the Gorilla World, the Primate Discovery Center features black howler monkeys, Diana monkeys, siamangs, patas monkeys, mandrills, lion-tailed macaques, colobus monkeys, baboons and François' langurs (I have no idea either). Additionally, in 1992 the Zoo opened the Lipman Family Lemur Forest, one of the largest outdoor multi-species lemur exhibits in the country.
