Sunday was the prologue time trial for the Tour of California, an eight-day professional bicycle stage race which travels 700 miles through the California redwoods, wine country and the down Pacific Coast. The best male road riders in the world, on 18 teams, are competing to win. Last year's Tour winner Floyd Landis did not compete but his Discovery Channel teammates including Ivan Basso and George Hincapie (bottom picture) are competing against the rest of the world's best.
