Early Morning, Pier 39
In 1992 Pier 39 was named the third most-visited attraction in the world by The London Observer magazine. Located at the end of Fisherman's Wharf, the Pier features over 120 shops and restaurants, stage shows, museums, a farmer's market, a handcrafted Venetian carousel, panoramic San Francisco Bay and city views, as well as the famous colony of wild California Sea Lions. As far as tourist traps go this 45-acre pier is, clean and well-run with an ever-changing set of attractions. But none of this is enough to draw any self-respecting local to the Pier unless they're entertaining visiting guests.
