Mini Series Day 4 of 5, Festival Food
Cherry Blossom Festival had dozens of food stalls offering everything from takoyaki, grilled octopus rolled into balls, shown above, to okonomiyaki, a kind of Japanese pancake. Inside Japantown, a large selection of restaurants specialize in a wide variety of foods; sushi, udon and soba noodles, tempura, curry dishes, yakitori, hot pot, hibachi, and much more. One Japanese food tradition is the giving of wagashi, Japanese cakes and mochi sweets as gifts to friends and family. The store shown at the bottom is selling the sweets in Cherry Blossom-themed gift boxes.
