Looking South to Pacifica
The bedroom community of Pacifica, just south of San Francisco, is widely known as the foggiest city in the bay area. But Pacifica has a lot to recommend it, dramatic cliffs overlooking nice beaches, lots of shopping, and over 50 percent of the city has been reserved as open space. In what might be the most brilliant civic move ever, the city holds an annual Fog Festival in September. This festival ensures that Pacifica remains thought of a just a foggy city while it shrewdly escapes the influx of new residents and spiraling home prices the much of the bay area has experienced.
