Street Art, South of Market
With all due respect to the San Francisco Arts Commission, some of the most creative expression in the city is on its walls and in its alleys. The street art underground here is so active that there are dozens of websites and a major documentary film, Piece by Piece dedicated to the San Francisco scene. If graffiti is nothing more than vandalism to you, a trip off the beaten path may just be an eye-opening experience.
