Sea Lions, Pier 39
After the 1989 earthquake hundreds of disoriented sea lions showed up in San Francisco Bay. Since then they have taken up permanent residence off of Pier 39. Wooden rafts have been constructed to act as resting decks for these very large and noisy San Francisco residents.

They came after the earthquake of '89?!! I knew it!! I could have sworn theyy weren't there the first time I went to the Wharf!
