Randall Museum, Corona Heights
OK, you've got your little niece and nephew visiting for the weekend. They've already explored the Exploritorium, climbed all over the ships at the Hyde Street Pier, and run along the beach with the dog. Where else can you take them? You might want to consider the Randall Museum. This hands-on children's museum features art and science programs focusing on the cultures and environment of the San Francisco Bay Area. The Randall Museum houses a live animal exhibit, a woodshop, art and ceramics studios, a lapidary workshop, a 188-seat theater, a greenhouse, and gardens. The basement also features a large model train demonstration of interest to both young and old. The museum which is owned and operated by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department sits at the top of Corona Heights and affords beautiful views of the Bay Area.
