Bring Your Own Big Wheel Race, Vermont Street
Easter Sunday was the date of San Francisco's annual Bring Your Own Big Wheel race. In previous years the event was held on Lombard Street but this year the location was changed to the very steep and winding Vermont Street, statistically more curvey than Lombard. Hundreds of racers showed up for this year's race. The race calls for plastic, not rubber wheels and... well that's actually the only rule. The crowd had a great time watching the wacky racers and even performing a few 'wave' cheers down the snaking track. The race results? As one big wheel racer said, "There are no winners here, only losers."
