Ghost Hunting in San Francisco
In a city with such an old and colorful past it's no surprise that there are dozens of supposedly haunted sites in San Francisco. Locations such as Alcatraz, the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges, various private homes, schools, hospitals, former military bases, parks, hotels, and churches all have experienced apparitions or poltergeists of one sort or another. Even Mark Twain reported a ghost in Kearny Street home in 1866 owned by an Albert Krum. Twain reported that this ghost was so active and violent that Mr. Krum couldn't keep servants for more than 48 hours. There a number of books available on haunted San Francisco, but those looking for a more personal experience may want to consider contacting the San Francisco Ghost Society or taking a walking tour such as the San Francisco Ghost Hunt.
