The Golden Gate from Seat 6F
Today let's take a different view of San Francisco, perhaps a geographical perspective. San Francisco shares the same latitude in the U.S. as the Yosemite Valley, Dodge City, Fort Knox, and St. Francois Mountains. Internationally, the same latitude hosts Mount Etna in Sicily, Mycenae and Olympia in Greece, the Azores, and Niigate in Japan. San Francisco shares its longitude with Seattle and Canada's Great Bear Lake. Continuing around the globe it is in line with the Ural Mountains and the island of Mauritius. Finally, San Francisco's antipode, opposite global position, is in the southern Indian Ocean, 2,000 miles east of Capetown, South Africa and 1,000 miles south of Reunion Island.
