Pacific Heritage Museum, Financial District
One of the lesser-known museums in San Francisco is actually two of the lesser-known museums in San Francisco. Tucked away near the Financial District on Commercial Street, the Pacific Heritage Museum houses a rotating exhibit of art and history from the Pacific Rim. The museum's site was also was the location of the first U.S. Branch Mint, dating back to 1852. The museum's upper two floors focus on Pacific Heritage while the lower level offers some exhibits of the history and significance of the Branch Mint. Both museums are free to the public.
