The Haight Ashbury Street Faire remains a great place to spot new trends both musical and otherwise. It has always been a showcase for up-and-coming artists and community musical groups. In the past the Faire's free musical stages featured such bands as the Jefferson Starship/Airplane, The Tubes, Metallica, Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix Experience), and others. So if you find yourself in San Francisco in the second weekend in June and feel you can risk the contact high, you may want to check out the Haight Ashbury Street Faire.
