Pirate Supply Store, Valencia Street
There are a lot of wonderfully unique stores in San Francisco. One such store is the Pirate Supply Store on Valencia. It is your one-stop shop for hooks, moustaches, glass eyes, and treasure maps. The store is also home to the famous porcupine pufferfish, Karl, who has his own aqua-theater. Children without golden doubloons wanting some of the store's booty have to creatively barter for it, perhaps with an original drawing or maybe a dance. Books of bartered drawings are displayed around the store. All proceeds from this unusual store go toward the 826 Valencia Writing Center, which supports kids with their writing skills. Considering the many typos and grammatical errors that regularly appear on FogBay, I certainly could have used their help.
