Mystery House, San Francisco
Today to mix things up a bit I thought I'd post a quiz. The house shown above was the home of an 1800s American legend who moved to San Francisco after a violent past. Along with a history in law enforcement our mystery man was also accused of murder, claim-jumping, tax evasion, running a confidence game, and rigging a prize fight. Actors who portrayed our mystery man in films include Buster Crabbe, Kevin Costner, Henry Fonda, James Garner, Burt Lancaster, Hugh O'Brian, Kurt Russell, and Jimmy Stewart.

Coincidentally, in his later years our mystery man would actually meet a young John Wayne. Wayne later claimed that our mystery man was the model for many of his famous characters. After his death our mystery man was buried with his wife, Josie in the city of Colma, just south of San Francisco. Do you know who the mysterious resident of this house was?
