Technological Advances, Japantown
In Japanese the toilet is called otearai or benjo and with the Japanese fondness for employing technology to aid in even the simplest of human tasks, today I present the two photos that I've been saving. The top photo shows a commode seat for sale in Japantown that offers push-button water cleansing (including a number of pulsating and massage settings), warm air drying, and automatic flushing. Other models offer a proximity sensor for auto opening and closing, automatic air deodorizing, and even heating and cooling units for seasonal enjoyment. The bottom photo offers an iPod player and charger that I find hard to believe is in much demand. Honestly, if you saw this in someone's bathroom would you ever really trust them again?
