Aquarium of the Bay, Pier 39
If you've already explored around the San Francisco Bay why not explore beneath the Bay? The Aquarium of the Bay located on Pier 39 offers a chance to walk below the water in a glass tube and experience some local sea life from a different perspective. Along with the 300-foot underwater pathway, the Aquarium features an area that allows you to touch live marine life such as bat rays, leopard sharks, and starfish. The facility also offers information on the Bay's environment, conservation, and natural ecology. If you can't make it down to the Monterey Aquarium, the Aquarium of the Bay is a great alternative to visit with children.
