Infineon Raceway, Sonoma County
Located about 40 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge at the entrance to the beautiful Wine Country sits Infineon Raceway. The 1,600 acre facility dates back to 1968 when it was known as Sears Point. The track itself is a twisting, 12-turn, two and half mile road course that hosts events for sports cars, motorcycles, vintage cars, exotics, top-fuel dragsters, funny cars, and stock cars. Once a year NASCAR holds its Dodge/Save Mart 350 race at Infineon. As luck would have it the NASCAR event always takes place on the same the weekend as the annual Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco. A scheduling coincidence that I think must add great interest for everyone checking into the city's hotels.
