Anarchist's Bookstore, Haight Street
If you're looking for a book on the Sacco and Vanzetti trial or simply a 'Kill Your Boss' t-shirt then the anarchist's bookstore, Bound Together, is the place for you. Since 1976 this collectively-owned, volunteer-run store on Haight street has been sticking it to the Man by offering perspectives on everything from political and social issues to conspiracy theories and calls for radical activism. Along with the books, magazines, t-shirts, and posters, this storefront offers racks of independently produced anarchist literature and political tracts. A portion of their sales go to provide books to prisoners. I kind of feel bad that I bought a book there, in keeping with the spirit of anarchy I probably should have just stolen it.
