Flood Aftermath, San Anselmo
The New Year's storms and floods brought $30 million in damages to the city of San Anselmo after a four foot wall of water swept through the city's downtown. An estimated 300 homes were affected as well as over 150 businesses. The day after the flood, block after block in the town center had piles of water-logged, ruined possessions heaped up on the sidewalks, waiting to be hauled away. Shown here, the town's historic obelisk at the firehouse could not escape the damage either.
