Henry Moore Sculpture, Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall
Located in San Francisco's Civic Center the world-famous San Francisco Symphony is directed today by Michael Tilson Thomas. Past directors have included Seiji Ozawa, Alfred Hertz, and Pierre Monteux. In 1923 violin prodigy Yehudi Menuhin made his professional debut with the symphony, at age seven. Menuhin had moved to San Francisco at age two and studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Another student at the Conservatory was the then ten year old, Isaac Stern.
