Old Tree, Buena Vista Park
If you've visited San Francisco you know that the city has a lot of trees. In fact over 220 types of trees have been identified within the city limits. Parks and recreational green areas are great but one organization, Friends of the Urban Forest promotes the planting of trees on neighborhood streets. Since 1981 they have helped neighborhood volunteers plant over 1500 trees annually. By supplying the materials and organization they assist locals in obtaining the permits, removing concrete, and purchasing the trees. The group also provides education, and tree care. I would like to express my thanks to the FUF on behalf of all San Franciscans and our dogs.
