Morning Light, Point Reyes
30 miles north of San Francisco is the pristine Point Reyes National Seashore, 70,000 acres of wild coastal beaches, headlands, and estuaries where, according to many experts, Sir Francis Drake landed in 1579. Point Reyes contains 147 miles of trails and a sanctuary for a herd of 400 Tule Elk. Some of the many native species here include Northern Elephant Seals, Mule Deer, and Mountain Lions. Point Reyes is a popular spot in the winter for watching migrating whales.
