The Birds, Bodega Bay
In 1961 Alfred Hitchcock chose the towns of Bodega Bay and Bodega to film his classic, 'The Birds'. Bodega Bay is a small, coastal fishing town about an hour north of San Francisco, Bodega is the nearby tiny town with a population under 100. While not quite Hollywood North, Bodega Bay has also served as the film location for 'The Goonies', 'Bandits', 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', 'Phenomenon', Wildfire', The Fog', 'The Pack', and 'Finian's Rainbow'.
