Cavallo Point, Fort Baker
Just a couple of months ago San Francisco Bay's first national park lodge, Cavallo Point, opened at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge near Sausalito, California. Cavallo Point is unique private/public/non-profit alliance to restore, enhance and preserve Fort Baker and works in alliance with the National Park Service and the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.

The lodge features 68 historic and 74 contemporary guest rooms and suites, fine dining, and a healing arts center with spa. Along with activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking Cavallo Point offers learning vacations in the culinary arts, creative arts, adventure, and well-being.

Day visitors to Cavallo Point can enjoy a gourmet meal or sip a glass of wine on one of the many wooden rocking chairs that face out to the San Francisco Bay. Visitors can also choose to explore the grounds of the 150+ year-old military base or stroll out to the northernbase of the Golden Gate Bridge.
