Formerly OJ Simpson Field, Galileo High School
Originally built in 1921, Galileo High School is located in Russian Hill near San Francisco's Aquatic Park and is known as 'Gal' or 'G-House' to the city's kids. This was the home football field of the Galileo Lions and their star running back, OJ Simpson, who later had the field named for him. Following the infamous 1995 trial the field was renamed George White Field. OJ moved on, playing later for City College of San Francisco and then the University of Southern California before going pro. The Galileo football Lions have twice gone undefeated, neither time during OJ's playing days.
