Mission Cultural Center, Mission District
The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts has been located in the heart of the Mission District since 1977. It was established by artists and community activists to promote, preserve and develop the Latino cultural arts of the Chicano, Central and South American, and Caribbean people. The MCCLA offers space for art exhibits and performance. The Center also offers classes in arts such as silkscreen and printmaking; music, including guitar, piano, Latin Jazz, and hip hop; and dance classes in Samba, Tango, Salsa, and Merengue. many classes are available on a drop-in basis so if you've had an urge to take up Capoeira then the MCCLA is your place.
