San Francisco at Night
San Francisco is a city that inspires songwriters. Hundreds of songs have been written to honor it over the years, from Otis Redding's, 'Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay' to Thelonious Monk's, 'San Francisco Holiday'. Scott McKenzie advised visitors to "wear flowers in their hair" and Journey sang of "when the lights go down in the city." One of the most unusual was Hawaiian Hilo Hattie's ode, 'Holo Holo Kaa' which was written during a San Francisco taxicab ride.

There are so many San Francisco songs in fact that the city even has two official city songs, 'San Francisco', from the film of the same name starring Clark Gable and Jeanette MacDonald and 'I Left My Heart in San Francisco', Tony Bennett's signature song which was first performed by him in the Fairmont Hotel's Venetian Room.
