Mini Series Day 5 of 6, Carnaval Music and the Crowd
One of the facets of the Carnaval Parade that can't be captured in photos is the music - steel drum bands, conga, salsa, reggae, folk, and Latin jazz. As bright and cheerful as the costumes, the driving, upbeat music keeps the parade moving along at fiesta pace.

Another thing you can always count on at a San Francisco festival is that the people in the crowd may be as interesting as those in the parade. Here are some of those locals on hand to attend this year's Carnaval.
