Windmill, Golden Gate Park
Larger than New York's Central Park, Golden Gate Park is flanked by two windmills on her Pacific Ocean side. This one, the Queen Wilhelmina Windmill was built in 1902 to provide the park with water at the rate of 20,000 gallons of per hour. Architecturally restored in 1981 the Windmill no longer pumps water but presides over the lovely tulip garden at its base.
